Answer a few questions
Tell us your state (and county, if it matters) and a bit about your assets, debts, and income — a few minutes, right in your browser.
We match your forms
We figure out which federal court covers you, which national forms your situation needs, and where to find your court’s local forms.

What this tool does
- Figures out which federal bankruptcy court covers where you live
- Asks about your assets, debts, and income to skip forms that don't apply to you
- Hands you the blank, official national forms, and points you to your court's own local forms
- Costs nothing, and doesn't store your answers anywhere but this browser
What it doesn't do
- It isn't legal advice, and it isn't a substitute for a bankruptcy attorney
- It only covers Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases for individuals — not Chapter 11 or 12, or business filings
- It doesn't fill out, file, or submit anything on your behalf
Where these forms come from
Every national form is the official, blank version published by the federal courts — the same in every state. Local forms are different: each of the 94 federal bankruptcy courts sets its own, and revises them without notice. So instead of copying them here, we point you to your own court's forms page, and tell you what to look for once you're there.
Why we made BK Prepare
BK Prepare was built to help Chapter 7 bankruptcy filers find their corresponding forms. After having navigated the court system myself, and going through the confusion of finding which forms to print out and which to leave out, I figured others were facing the same issue.
BK Prepare was built in Riverside County, California, and now covers every federal bankruptcy court in the country. I plan on expanding to different bankruptcy chapters next.
